The assassination of Theo van Gogh was a shock to the world and to the very non-engaged, neutral Holland. The film director and TV presenter was born in the Hague. He was the great-grandson of Theo van Gogh – the brother of Vincent van Gogh.


He didn't graduate the University of Amsterdam, his passion to make and discover the film industry predominated his life. Even though he always tried to be politically non-engaged, he wrote a book "Allah weet het better"/ "Allah knows better" – which appeared shortly after the tragedy of the Twin Towers at 11 of September 2001. The publication and outspoken point of view led to a disaster, his death. The book strongly criticized the Islam and the fundamental movements.



Theo van Gogh was assassinated in Amsterdam, while cycling to work at November 4th, 2004. The assassin, Mohammed Bouyeri, was a 26-year-old Dutch-Moroccan citizen, apprehended by police after a chase, while he tried to run off he was shot in the leg. Van Gogh was shot several times, the wounds were severe, all of them lethal. While struggling for life van Gogh asked for mercy, in contrary, the assassin, cut his throat, he also wanted to decapitate him, he put the knife deep into his chest by which he broke the spinal cord asunder. The smaller knife was used as a 'paper clip' to which the message was enclosed.

Methodology in Language Learning: The Ehrman & Leaver Construct

The complex pattern study has an elaborate underlying theoretical construct and has undergone extensive field-testing and validation at the Foreign Service Institute. Therefore it represents a serious attempt to reconceptualize cognitive styles in the service of language learning and warrants a closer inspection. The E&L Construct, as Ehrman and Leaver have named their new system, is similar to Riding’s theory in that it reorganizes a number of established style dimensions under a new, comprehensive, and parsimonious construct. However, unlike Riding’s taxonomy, here only one superordinate style dimension is provided, with the two poles labeled ectasis and synopsis.   Most of the discussion concerning the definitions of death belongs to the field of legal medicine and even that of ethics, rather than forensic pathology. Notwithstanding this, a quick review of this complex problem is appropriate here, as when we come to describe the various post-mortem phenomena, some appreciation is necessary of the zero point from which such changes are timed. It is conventional to describe two types of death:      somatic death, in which the person irreversibly loses its sentient personality, being unconscious, unable to be aware of (or to communicate with) its environment, and unable to appreciate any sensory stimuli or to initiate any volunrary movement.
